Webmasters, this page I made for myself to keep track of all the pages on webbing, banners and programs. You can read my reflections on my own experience as a webmaster -- on the nature of web and internet, HTML tricks, promotion, advertising, traffic, etc. (see Business and Web pages in all directories). So far I haven't paid for anything, but it takes a lot of time and learning.Tech issues: counters, java scripts, tracking. At some point you will want to reduce it to minimum -- the graphics and sounds. The text, the content -- information... the rest should be functional only.

There are several indicators of "how am I doing?"
Traffic. It would be nice to worry about getting it bigger, but the first concern must be about how to keep it up. Not to lose it. You have to remember the competition: many new websites are born every day. All of them are doing what you do. More and more do it business-style. They learn a lot from the Y2K implosion. The cyber space becoms more important that the real space. It will be more expensive than traditional "real estate"; wait and watch.
Wait? No, you won't be in the game. There no time for "wait and see" game.
"Quality of traffic" -- check the requests for your pages; there are still too many are nonsical.
Check the reload ratio: how many are actually "read" your pages, return, how many stay for 30 min. or an hour? Well, that is the visitors you want!
